R.B. Services (Electrical Division) have a wealth of experience in the periodic Inspection & testing of installations from small offices to large industrial sites.

We have learned that most of the testing can be carried out during the day without disruption to your business (less cost to the client) depending on the condition of the electrical installation, and having previous test records, drawings etc.

Shutdown periods (if needed) are arranged through close liaison with our clients. Our aim is to minimise disruption by providing a flexible programme of works.

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 places legal responsibility of the ‘Duty Holders,’ (persons ultimately responsible for electrical safety at your premises), cannot escape their responsibilities under the law. Management are deemed to have the resources and the authority necessary to provide a safety management system. Directors, Managers and Supervisors can be held legally accountable following a criminal offence.

The regulations call for all electrical systems and apparatus which are, or may be, attached to the electrical installation, to be maintained in a safe condition so that individual users may be protected from electrical shock or fire hazards.

 

Regulation 4(2) of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 requires that:

As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger.

The Health & Safety Executive recommend that to comply with the regulations, an inspection and testing regime should be implemented at all places of work.
