A thermographic camera is used whilst all the electrical system is running normally with no need to have any power disruptions. This useful tool helps to find overloaded circuits, loose terminations, etc and can help plan a maintenance program with minimal shut down periods. A report will be issued supported by thermal images coupled with normal pictures as an aid to identify locations.
Many large companies are now incorporating this type of service as part of their PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance).
Using thermographic cameras like the one shown here, we are able to record where excessive heat is being emitted. Various resolution and wavelength options are used to make these recordings.
We can monitor virtually any electrical circuit, connection, bearing, coupling, cable joint, switchboard, bus-bar or any other electrical component or piece of machinery or equipment. R.B. Services will help you strategically target areas requiring preventative maintenance to achieve improved overall results and performance. Our survey can be used to target suspect equipment, or preferably, to provide a comprehensive monitoring service on all plant and equipment.
As previously mentioned, it is recommended to include a thermographic survey as part of your Planned Preventative Maintenance regime. This will save you time and money and reduce the inconvenience of unexpected failures.
